Land area: urban design – 10 sq km, detailed urban design (key areas) – 2.2 sq km

 In accordance with the guidelines and implementation opinions of the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government on the “12335″ construction of the central city, and adhering to the requirements of integrated high-quality development, the Yantai Natural Resources and Planning Bureau organized an international Yantai Zhifu Bay strategy promotion and urban design solicitation. The organizers selected 6 international design teams with global vision and rich waterfront design experience from 91 consortium teams. After strict review, the “Charming Green Port·Smart Blue Bay” plan of Shenzhen General Institute, Shenzhen Urban Planning and Design Institute, and Tekuma French Urban Design Alliance stood out and won the bid.

 The existence, development and glory of Yantai benefit from the port. With the development of the city, the transformation of the industrial port area into the urban center has become a key issue in Yantai’s recent urban development.

 The core technical route of the design is based on the analysis of current problems. Based on past experience, the team identified five major issues facing the Zhifu Bay area and formulated a systematic Zhifu Bay strategic upgrade plan from the aspects of “hydrology, space, function, transportation, history” and other aspects.
